The voice of Rick St. Clair ranges from sombre lows to moonshine highs. A heart-worn and weathered soul, the trials and tribulations of time have bent, but not broke him. His sound reflects a range of musical influences; from the introspective lyricism of yesteryear’s folk, to the melancholic melodies of country and blues. Rick weaves soundscapes into a sonic tapestry of his own.
Rick released his demo EP titled “Reunion” on November 23rd at Elora Brewing Company. The EP featured songs from both past and present, recorded in his home in Elora, Ontario. His most popular song, titled “Elora”, captures the spirit of the town with words, melodies, and ambience. He designed four graphics, each one representing a verse from “Elora”. Those who enjoy Rick’s music and the town of Elora alike can purchase tee shirts from his online shop, that feature the Elora graphic designs and lyrics on the back.
Whether he’s playing in a cosy cafe or beneath open skies, Rick St. Clair’s performances cross the border lines between artist and audience, and create a moment of presence.
